A Bathroom Makeover – Full Steam ahead!
This steam shower bathroom was the most popular bath in the house..family members and guests loved it. But, the room needed a new look. So, this family went full steam ahead and decided to invest in their nest and give the steam bath the makeover it deserved!
The dated faux painted walls, plain vanity and small shower door were the first to go.
Then the construction crew removed the original tile in the shower and on the bathroom floor. The shower opening was widened but just 12 inches but, it appeared to double the size of the shower!
The real show stopper though was the glass tile on the back wall of the shower…it is a ceiling to floor patter with random highlights of silver and shimmery bronze tiles.
A new clear shower door was certainly needed to show off this new wall!
Ceramic tile was chosen for the shower walls, floors and part way up the bathroom walls.
A chair rail of the same glass tile was wrapped around the bath and the same tile shows up randomly on the bathroom floor. The dull, plain white vanity was replaced with a sleek black cabinet topped with an exotic stone, a glass bowl sink and a waterfall faucet.
The strip lighting and mirror slab was replaced with a framed backlit mirror and two chocolate colored crystal pendants.
The large full glass door was specially made to seal tightly to keep the steam in and the cold out.
A warming system was also placed in the floor to keep toes warm on cold mornings.
The walls were also warmed up- with a bronze shimmery faux finish in contrast to the sparkly silver painted ceiling for a little drama in the room.
So this was a complete transformation of a bathroom…from the widened shower with the glass door and striking tile backdrop to the exotic stone topped vanity,,,this steamy oasis is ready for all to enjoy!
